Hi, in the new Share feature, I see that you can create expiring links. My question is, is the expiration time calculated from when the file is created or from when the file is shared?

Also, the “date created” field in the shared files table doesn’t seem to be providing the correct data.

Finally, what is the Share Background image?

Thanks for adding new features to this already great service.

      Hi practicetheguitar,

The expiration link is set when the link is created so if you have an expiration set to 1 minute the link will expire exactly 1 minute after you click create link.

The share background can be set in the dashboard it is the large image that displays full screen behind your share box so you can customise it to your brand.

For example: https://s3api.com/share/id/qpzhwcrfyn we just grabbed a image from Google.

The great thing about the sharing functionality is the ability to preview the content.

Happy to listen to any suggestion or functionality required 😉

      Best Regards

      Sam

Sam, Thanks for your quick response. Also, thanks for having a great service and for your continual development of S3Bubble. We rely on S3Bubble heavily and it has helped us out a great deal with all of the video we serve.

The Share feature is a nice addition, but not really what I was looking for. We are in the process of developing some digital products that we’ll sell on our membership site. The content is already hosted on S3 and the buckets are visible in S3Bubble just like all of our other content. Within these product folders, there will be a Zip file containing several files. I was hoping to be able to share a secure link via email in order to deliver the purchased product(s). The problem is, I don’t want to have to manually create a new expiring link for each purchase.

My idea would be to use S3Bubble to create a secure expiring link that I can send via email to customers. The link would expire, but the clock would start at the time of purchase, not the time of link creation.

I realize this is likely outside of your scope. I was just trying to maximize my use of S3Bubble instead of having to add yet another plugin….

      Thanks, John
