MediaTailor Server Side Ad Insertion

Setting up SSAI is now easy than ever with MediaTailor SSAI server-side ad insertion.

To set up SSAI with Mediatailor follow this simple step by step tutorial.

First find a piece of media you want to add SSAI to. Upload your video to an AWS S3 bucket, find your piece of media through the S3Bubble dashboard and click the encode button.

This will take you through a step by step process to encode your media to you specific protocol DASH or HLS adaptive bitrate.

It will take you through the following steps.
1. Add audio descriptions or captions.
2. Add DRM Fairplay, Widevine or Playready.
3. Select the destination S3 Bucket you would like to output your media to.
4. The Cloudfront distribution you want to use to stream you media.
5. The MediaConvert template you want to use to encode your media normally DASH, HLS or you can use a custom one.

Select done and we will run a job specifically setup for MediaTailor ad insertion for Dash and HLS.

After your job has completed your can navigate into your player page and playback your video.

Let's Add SSAI

Now all you have to do is click the SSAI menu item on the left hand side and enter your VMAP/VAST advertising url and S3Bubble will setup a MediaTailor config you can then go to this config and click the actions menu and the create DASH or HLS player.

You will then see your video with freshly inserted advertisements. Mediatailor uses the vmap offset time to insert your ads at specific timeframes you can alter these to make your ads show up exactly at the point you want your ads to display.
