      Sam,

I would like to use Sorenson Squeeze to create all my HLS Encrypted Streams.

I have been able to get Sorenson Squeeze and S3 Bubble to play nice together with non-encrypted streams, but am struggling the get it to play back properly with HLS streams encrypted with AES. When trying to play the encrypted stream the S3Bubble Admin console, I get the box that the stream is the wrong format.

      1) Is playing back streams encrypted elsewhere even possible?
      2) Perhaps its some trick or communication with Sorenson Squeeze people to fix.
Here are the two streams, (they are small) Perhaps you could look at them and see what I might be missing?
      https://pf-upload.s3.amazonaws.com/Test2_PF_HLS_ENCRYPT.zip
      https://pf-upload.s3.amazonaws.com/Test2_PF_HLS.zip

Can you help explain or guide me in the right direction to get this to work?

      Thanks
      Doug

      Hi Doug,

Any particular reason you would want to use Sorenson Squeeze over the AWS Elastic Transcoder?

You can create presets for pretty much any setup using the AWS Elastic Encoder.

      http://docs.aws.amazon.com/elastictranscoder/latest/developerguide/system-presets.html

      Best Regards

      Sam,

      Main answer is cost.

I have to encode currently 750 hours and its growing. To encode 4 streams using AWS Elastic encoder (360,480,720,1080) will cost $5.40 per 60 minutes. (.015+.015+.03+.03) * 60 Thats currently $4050. Sorenson is about $750 and I already have the license and a 12 core machine here. I might take 6 weeks and an extra $500 in electricity, but I am still building out the website, so time is not the critical factor.

So, can I use Sorenson with Encryption and S3Bubble? If so, how?

      Doug

      Hi dougw,

Unfortunately, I cannot give any advice on Sorenson as I have never heard of it, we only focus on AWS here I wouldn’t want to give any advice on something I know nothing about.

I’ll have a quick look when i get 5 minutes.

If you find a solution tho please update us here.

      Best Regards

      Sam
