In GA I’m seeing great metrics – but I have no idea what the individual videos being played are since the Event Label is the name of the containing folder. So I get a list of Events that are simply timestamps from when the video was encrypted.

Is there a way to get more meaningful Event Labels? Such as the first 50 characters of the Encoded Media Key?

      I’m a total GA noob.

just to share my experience. tried GA with event tracker before. but it is quite hard to implement. after doing some googling, subscribed to s3stat. better and more straightforward. USD10/month though. maybe u can take a look.

p/s i am just a user of s3stat. it is not my company. just happy to share good things to other people.

      I’ve been looking at s3stat.

But it still drives me nuts seeing metrics in GA that are not human-readable. I’m hoping there’s an elegant solution.

      Hi Patrick,

If you are using Cloudfront which I think you are head over to this link.

      https://console.aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/home?#usage_reports:

Select your distribution you get a whole range of states you can also download a CSV.

I will look into the Analytics see if we can find a better solution.

      Best Regards

There are several wordpress GA plugins that give excellent data granularity.

We needed to get a better understanding of who was viewing videos on google analytics here is what we did it may help.

      Download the google analytics app.

Click behaviour and then select all pages.

Click the spanner icon on this page.

Select dimensions and then click the all tab.

Scroll down to traffic sources and select full referrer.

      Click save.
