Video locking and black screen on player

Hello!
Although I really like S3Bubble because of the encryption, I’m getting a lot of complaints from my users because of 2 problems:
1º – The videos are crashing a lot.
I already researched the forum and wanted to know if there is any way to buffer the larger videos. I believe that if there is a larger buffer the videos will carry much less.
2nd – The video player is black screen. This happens when my users access the videos using the Android OS with the Chrome browser (unfortunately most of my users use Android and Chrome) and this is causing me a lot of inconvenience.

Could you help me with these 2 problems, please?

I await your return.
Many thanks, I’m getting a lot of complaints because of the player. Hangs a lot.
If it buffered, it would be better for my clients, but the HLS (encrypted) loads little buffer.

The S3Bubble plugin for WordPress is bringing me a lot of trouble with my clients. Every day I get a complaint because of the video’s legs.
Unfortunately I still can not get a solution with S3Bubble support and I also could not get another company to provide this service. I wanted to keep my site with S3Bubble, but if I continue this way I will have to cancel this service.
I’m losing customers and sales.
Unfortunately, here in Brazil, many do not have a high quality internet, but even then, it was not to hang in the way it hangs.
I did the installation according to the tutorials, but there may have been some configuration error. I wanted them to help me soon.
This only comes with the encrypted videos, the unencrypted videos the player buffers the whole video and my client can see normally.
Only we pay to have security of our videos !!!

Please try using the JWPlayer setup to see if you still get issues with the player.

you could just paste the link into your browser to see how your browser handles the video completely remove the player.

On your test page http://www.aprendacom.com.br/teste-celso/ the player seems to load fine without any issues.

Most issues are always related to how the videos have been encrypted if you are using mp4’s then you can get issues if they have not been encoded correctly regarding meta data.

You can re-encode them through https://handbrake.fr/ with web optimised checked this will move the meta data to the start of the video helping with the video start time.

HLS should be your best bet for playback speed playback with an encrypted video should be exactly the same as with an unencrypted video.

Do you see any issues with playback on the http://streamiumtheme.com/

We experienced issues with Android Chrome recently try to remove the bucket policy the is an issue with Google Chrome browser, not us we are looking into the issue.

I really want to thank you for the tip. The handbrake is excellent. It decreased from 400Mb to 150Mb the size of my products. Thank you very much!

The AWS Hosted system and JWPlauer (Beta) have not yet been used. I intend to test soon.

Already cryptograph in HLS in the near 720p, 480p and 380p.
Have a question: I would also like to know about DRM (Digital Rights Management). When I encrypt, does it already have DRM protection ???

About Chrome + Android OS, I’m waiting for your solution. We have many clients that these OS and we use this browser.

Encryption doesn’t have DRM that is a separate service.

To resolve the ( Chrome + Android OS ) you will need to remove the http referrer condition from your policy.

Under the bucket Actions menu (top right) click (Add standard bucket policy)

I think I should also remove the http referrer from my policy as brazil is one of my target markets.

Does adding standard bucket policy affect any security settings?
If I lock down my media to my site will it still work as intended?

Hi Jamie,

Yes, I would remove the policy its only seems to be related to Android chrome which is annoying (they have a bug in the mobile browser on some versions), all the http referrer did was prevent the link been copied and pasted and viewed in other software rather than being downloaded if your videos are encrypted you will be fine.

We are looking into Signed cookies which seems to be the only way forward to add the same security as the referrer. We have this working but it’s quite a complex process requires Cloudfront and cookies need to be set at an application level so we are currently looking into the best way to integrate it into our current system.
