The expiration link is set when the link is created so if you have an expiration set to 1 minute the link will expire exactly 1 minute after you click create link.

The share background can be set in the dashboard it is the large image that displays full screen behind your share box so you can customise it to your brand.

For example: https://s3api.com/share/id/qpzhwcrfyn we just grabbed a image from Google.

The great thing about the sharing functionality is the ability to preview the content.

Hi Grace,

The preview does not currently integrate with the paywall but I can suggest a couple of things other users are doing.

You can supply a really low bitrate stream for users that have not paid only 240p and then ask them to upgrade for better quality.

You could have a really annoying watermark to force users to make payment. S3Bubble add watermarks

You can have a category called freebies where you can have your videos with the preview set.

But you make a valid point and we are adding updates to the Streamium theme weekly so we are really interested in what our users think is the best way to entice users to sign up.

So anyone else please jump in on this topic we would like as much advice as possible.

It would be great to have a list of possible scenarios Netflix and Amazon prime Now TV etc all offer trial periods which works great if you have tonnes of updated content.

I would suggest creating a category like suggested and give every video in that category a preview.

You would need to resize yourself or maybe setup a script you could take a look a Lambda they have some pretty neat functionality you can setup scripts to batch run on an AWS bucket might be worth checking out.

There is no “secret sauce” so feel free to keep pushing, but you are searching for an answer from us saying yes you could download it this way, which we can’t answer because we ourselves cannot achieve this but feel free to try.

Can you explain this in more detail.

I have set up a Streamium website, and put a few encrypted videos up. If I go to the website from a new computer (so not Canonical AWS user), I can easily view the encrypted content. So that leaves a few questions:

You should be able to view the encrypted content from any computer can you download it? playback from anything? take this video.

You can inspect element and take a look at the segments.

So the process if you want to try.

1. First, you will need to download all the thousands of .ts files.
2. You will then need to decrypt each individual segment.
3. Then you will need to bind all the .ts segments
4. Output as a video formatted file.

(You need to think who would go through all this trouble when people could effectively use screengrab software which there is no solution to, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc cannot solve this)

As always with the web and emerging tech people could find ways around setups there are people that dedicate their whole life’s to this just to say they can, but there is also people that prevent this when they happen (s3bubble) so for now I would be content with the level of security.

Please don’t take this as me being blunt I understand you need validation 😉

Nothing is set to public within the process everything is secured via a bucket policy (without Cloudfront) or a WAF firewall in front on the Cloudfront distirbution.

Everything is set to a private Canonical user id on encryption.

Unfortunately, I cannot give any advice on Sorenson as I have never heard of it, we only focus on AWS here I wouldn’t want to give any advice on something I know nothing about.

The only thing you need to do with the Oembed plugin is add your connected website.

Then you simply paste your link into your post or page or use the WYSIWYG editor.

Any particular reason you would want to use Sorenson Squeeze over the AWS Elastic Transcoder?

You can create presets for pretty much any setup using the AWS Elastic Encoder.

I would not change any of your existing content there is no need, the old plugins will continue to function it just won’t be updated regularly.

The old plugin will never stop working if it needs to be update for a new version of WordPress we will always support this we are just trying to encourage our new users to start with the new setup to allow us to manage the service.

But from now on you could use the Oembed plugin there are no options you just paste in the video link under the embed section of your video.

Or even easier just use the iframe code, everything will work with the old plugin.
